Social Media in Small Businesses

Social Media in Small Businesses

Social Media can become an excellent tool for small companies’ business plans, with the way the internet is growing around us everyday.

People are evolving themselves into the internet every day that you can make a Facebook page and get 100 of people to view and with that little number if only 10 liked your page and they have friends and out of the first 10 you get 10 more from their friends in a couple of weeks to a month you can get hundreds of people with almost no work. They will see on your page what your company’s dose, and offers of their business. with explaining what they do or offer can clear up stuff with people who are a little nervous about possibly buying from your company.

When social media takes no training you would not need to hire someone to do it for the company or you yourself could upload the social media to the sites and the small company can find them most affordable. All it takes is to have internet access and the common knowledge of computer control and you can have your business up and running with many forms.

The Importance of Social Media

Many small businesses have come to recognize the importance of social media as part of their marketing plan.

For years small businesses have used a variety of marketing tools to reach their customers including catalogs, postcards, mini-logs and newspaper ads.  Each of these tools has an expense associated with it and the marketing vehicles that are sent through the mail have the additional challenge of keeping a current, accurate database.  In order for a catalog to be effective it must reach the desired recipient, and keeping that information up to date requires dedicated staff and/or expensive technology.

In recent years many small businesses have included a variety of social media tools to their marketing plans such as Facebook, Twitter, blogs, podcasts and videos.  In contrast to traditional media, social media allows small businesses to have instant contact with their customers in the form of customer feedback, company helplines, and training videos.  Because social media is affordable it can benefit small businesses and be a great addition to traditional marketing tools.
